Your First Appointment

Your First Appointment

In order to make an appointment, you will normally need a referral from your GP or another specialist. Private insurers require this referral in order to fund your visit, investigations or subsequent surgery. You can ask your health care provider to refer you specifically to my clinic. You may be emailed questionnaires to answer prior to your appointment. These help to triage how severe your problem may be. We review your referral and then contact you to arrange a time for you to come in.
Who to bring to your appointment
Whānau and people who help with your health care decisions are especially welcome to attend with you. If you have sleep breathing problems, your partner or family can often give valuable insights about what they experience when you are sleeping!
What to expect
When you arrive for your first visit, we will ask you to fill out a registration questionnaire. Initial consultations are normally booked for 30 minutes and follow ups are 15 minutes, but you may sometimes need more time depending on your needs.
